Teacher Participant Teams

Each team prepared a sample lesson based on a session from an Investigation and presented it to the workshop on Saturday, July 20. During the coming year, the teams will prepare assessment modules to use with the Investigation that they started studying during the summer workshop. Kindergarten Team. Maria-Carmen Ortuno (South Boulevard), Lisa Bell (Highland), Pauline Ewing (South Boulevard) and Carolyn Guelfo (Bernard Terrace). Assessment project: Six Tiles, from How Many In All?
First Grade Team. Carol Pickens (Magnolia Woods), Brenda Loyd (Melrose), Barbara Favre (Villa del Rey) and Torry Richard (Magnolia Woods). Assessment project: Crayon Puzzles, from Number Games and Story Problems.
Second Grade Team. Alice Efferson (Magnolia Woods), Laurelle Cliburn (Bernard Terrace), Jenny Cain (Highland), Lucia Snedigar (Villa del Rey) and Kevin Zito (LSU). Assessment project: Investigation 2, from Putting Together and Taking Apart.
Third Grade Team A. Anne Chaney (South Boulevard), Gail Canova (Villa del Rey), Belinda Cambre (Highland) and Cindy Ignola (Melrose). Assessment project: Investigation 5, from Combining and Comparing.
Third Grade Team B. Roberta Spradley (Bernard Terrace), Michele Fraser (Melrose), Patricia McBride (South Boulevard) and Danna Bouey (Villa del Rey). Assessment project: Investigation 1, from Combining and Comparing. (Team B also hopes to work on assessment modules to accompany Mathematical Thinking in Grade Three.)
