Hongchao Zhang (LSU Professor of Mathematics/CCT) is the recipient of the 2022 INFORMS Computing Society prize, jointly with Saeed Ghadimi (Waterloo) and Guanghui Lan (Georgia Tech) are being recognized for their pioneering work on nonconvex stochastic optimization methods.
The Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences or INFORMS is the leading international association for professionals in operations research and analytics. Within INFORMS, the ICS awards one prize a year for the best English-language paper (or group of related papers) dealing with the operations research/computer science interface.
