A Ph.D. graduate student studying control theory in the Electrical Engineering Department could possibly obtain a Master's Degree in Mathematics by taking the following Mathematics courses: Linear Operators on Hilbert Space, Dynamic Optimization, Discrete Optimization, and Matrix Analysis. There are a number of EE courses that would be compatible with this degree program. These include:
- EE 7510: Advanced Linear Systems
- EE 7520: Optimal Control Theory
- EE 7525: Robust Control
- EE 7570: Nonlinear Systems Analysis
- EE 7580: Computer Process Control
- EE 7585: Advanced Digital Control Systems.
