WELCOME!
THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELED. WE ARE VERY SORRY!
This is the first time that we have a Sonia Kovalevsky Day at LSU and we are very excited!
This one day activity is free of charge and it will take place on May 8th, in Lockett Hall rooms 5 and 9, on the LSU campus.
As it states on the Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM) web page, the purposes of this activity are: - To encourage young women to continue their study of mathematics
- To assist them with the sometimes difficult transition between high school and college mathematics
- To assist the teachers of female mathematics students
- To encourage colleges and universities to develop more extensive cooperation with high schools in their area
The
program will be mainly aimed towards 10th and 11th grade students, but
younger exceptional students are encouraged to apply..
If you are interested in attending, please contact the organizers.
The funds for the Sonia Kovalevsky Dat at LSU were provided by the LSU VIGRE Program
