Research
My main research interest was Number Theory. My thesis and some
subsequent work dealt with genus 2 curves. I've done some work on
class number formulas, Jacobi sums, and recently, some computational
work on Stark's conjectures.
The Stark's conjecture paper has been published, but we still don't have an answer to the
question: Can you see a pattern (any pattern!) in this picture? If you can let me know and we might be
famous...
Publications

For a full list of publications look here.
Data
-
The following are data sets that I have computed. Some of this did not fit
in the various articles and are only published here.
Programs
-
Some of the programs used to compute the above data might be of
interest to other researchers interested in computations on genus 2
curves and their Jacobians. They can now be found at this page. Anyone interested in the Somos 6
sequence should look at the worked example.
Other
- You can play the board game
Hex
online
- You can play all kinds of lesser known board games with other enthusiast
on Richard's PBeM server
(by e-mail). Some games have a graphical interface. You can see games in
progress here and
here.
